Part of what you’ll learn at UTA and at The Shorthorn is to have high expectations of and aspirations for yourself. That means taking advantage of opportunities for scholarships and internships as they arise. We’re entering the application season, and I couldn’t be more happy to provide information on the Chips Quinn Scholars program (deadline Oct. 15). This fantastic program is for minority student journalists who are juniors or seniors. It includes intense training, a paid internship during the summer at a great paper, and the honor of always being a Chips Quinn Scholar (and access to the network).
I hope you will review this information and mark your calendar with the deadline. More information is here: Chips Quinn Scholars | Apply.
(I’ve known two people who went through this program, and they raved about the networking, experience and friends they gained from it.)
