The following opportunity is pretty neat – a student-to-student web chat that will be Monday, Oct. 15. Details follow. I encourage anyone considering a leadership position in the newsroom next semester to participate. Anyone interested in learning more about how some other newsrooms operate – or just how they cover news on their campus – should participate as well.
The Associated Collegiate Press is launching a live Web chat series, and we invite you and your staff to participate. The first “Student to Student” chat is for daily newspaper staffs and will take place Monday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. CDT. The transcript will be archived at the same link for viewing later.
At the Oct. 15 chat, editors from Minnesota Daily (University of Minnesota) and The Battalion (Texas A&M University) will share share best practices and tips. Though the session will focus on the particulars of a daily newspaper, students and professional staff from other newspaper types or other media are welcome. Please share this announcement throughout your newsroom.
