We’re looking for interns in our Austin bureau and at the main campus in San Antonio. Could you spread the word of our interest to your students. Our interns have described their time with us as life-changing and it prepares them for even greater opportunities in the future. Please spread the word. Below is the text of our ad posted on journalismjobs.com
The San Antonio Express-News is looking for smart, energetic journalism students to intern for the remainder of the summer in our Austin bureau, and fall interns in San Antonio and in Austin. We’re looking for interns who have a desire to get their stories on the front page, a willingness to work hard and want to learn from some of the best journalists in the state.
This is not the kind of internship where students shadow seasoned reporters and make coffee runs. The Express-News’ for-credit internship program is the kind of experience where students roll up their sleeves in two of Texas’ most vibrant cities and contribute to the newspaper’s report while learning their craft in a nurturing environment. Interns are needed in metro, features, sports, business, copy desk, photo, online and in our Austin bureau. Internships are offered to students preparing to graduate. We do not offer post-graduate internships. Spanish-speaking is a plus.
